Removal of content from Spotify, Simfy, Rdio & Napster.STHoldings can confirm that we have taken the decision to remove all STHoldings distributed content from the following music services, Spotify, Simfy, Rdio & Napster.
Despite these services offering promotion to many millions of music listeners we have concerns that these services cannibalise the revenues of more traditional digital services. These concerns are confirmed in our own accounts and a recent study by NPD Group and NARM
As a distributor we have to do what is best for our labels. The majority of which do not want their music on such services because of the poor revenues and the detrimental affect on sales. Add to that, the feeling that their music looses it’s specialness by it’s exploitation as a low value/free commodity. Quoting one of our labels “Let’s keep the music special, fuck Spotify”
All the labels we represent have been given the choice to have their music to Spotify, Simfy, Rdio & Napster. As of today (16.11.11) from the 238 labels we distribute, 4 have expressed that they would like to be on these services.

BAY B KANE: KMAG INTERVIEW
In jungle's golden era Bay B Kane and his myriad aliases produced and released some of the best beats of the time on some of the best labels. '95 saw him take a back seat and after a lull in output he bounced back with a new LP in 2010.
Since then he's released the Brick Jungle LP in April on Armageddon Beats and this month sees the release of his latest LP, Jungle Love, on Junglist Manifesto Recordings. Not too many producers return after such a long break, especially with an LP as strong as this one. I've heard Jungle Love and lemme tell you, if golden era jungle with a 2011 twist is your thing, this album will bust your head right open. BBK shares his thoughts on love, life, beats and bass.
You were away for quite a while, why the huge lapse?
My last release was in 1995 but I didn't actually leave the scene until the spring of 1997. As for the huge lapse, it was mainly due to me wanting to move forwards with other aspects of my life, especially as I had a young family at the time. Not only that, but I was also feeling somewhat disillusioned with the whole scene at the time. It was very divided, with "ragga jungle" on one side and "intelligent" on the other which I always felt was very damaging for the scene.
So I went back to education and managed to get myself an honours degree in Computing & Information Systems at London Metropolitan University. Of course this didn't happen overnight but on and off over a period of five years or so. Of the 13 years that I was away from the music scene I spent 12 of them working in the field of computers and computer software development.
So, as I'm sure you would agree, I was quite busy with all the different aspects of life in general. Even so, I still had to resist the urge to go back and start making beats almost on a daily basis. After 12 years of that I just could not resist anymore and finally I returned to the studio in March 2010...

I'd like to thank the academy... Seriously though I'm really happy that I won. I can't wait for the release of "London Gash". Big up to all the runners up and all the people who have made the "United Nations of Jungle" compilation. Big respect to Tykal, Armageddon Beats, Bay B Kane.There were some huge tunes in there Nickynutz & J Bostron came storm troppin'. I'm looking forward to the vinyl being in my hands. Also looking forward to signing a contract with Armageddon Beats to see some future releases through them. It's good to see that real jungle is still alive and growing. I wanna give a special shout out to The Grimm Speaker for his tune which was a personal fave of mine.

It was an incredibly close thing between these two tracks J BOSTRON's track i feel captured the raw spirit within the precision edits of some of the sharpest tempered steel like Amens ever heard and i personally think its one of the best jungle tracks ive heard so far this year as it has just the right amount of each ingredient plus it is a very tasty blend of them all so very well done to J BOSTRON. Then there was another track which kept shining through at us like the North star & we just couldnt ignore it even if we wanted to the track im talking about of course is NICKY NUTZ's December Raindrops Which incidentally i personally heard around the end of last year for the first time and remember liking it very much then too but of course Emmett had never heard it until this competition moved over to SoundCloud never the less it was shining at him just as it was to me and it is a top notch tune by a top notch producer very well done to NICKY NUTZ.
Now we come to the Ultimate over all winner of this comp!
As funny or strange as it might sound to some myself & Emmett had no problem in choosing this track as the Ultimate winner because its just too good!
Also there really is nothing else quite like it in this competition...From the vocal samples to the chop suey drumz & deep heavy subs to us it stuck out like a thumbs up!And so a thumbs up was the only thing we could give this very out of the ordinary innovative & down right ground breaking track...So its a massive Brrrapp Brrrapp
Salute to the man like CHILI BANKS & his inspirational
track LONDON GASH.

Very proud to announce that we've signed Bay B Kane to release his new album "Jungle Love" in the summer of 2011.
Bay B Kane began producing with Hip-Hop in 1986, and was quickly signed to T.U.F. Records where he began polishing his production craft. Flash to 3 years later he was hungry to really break through. BBK teamed up with Mr.E and started fusing Techno sounds with Breakbeats. The 2 formed "Break The Limits" & after a huge first release the duo got signed to XL Recordings.
In 1992 he launched Ruff Guidance Records & re-branded to who we now know as the legendary Bay B Kane! 1993 rolled in & BBK hooked up with Whitehouse Records. He released a slew of releases & did remixes for some of the biggest names in the history of Jungle. During this time he collaberated with the likes of PESHAY / MICKEY FINN / DARREN JAY / DJ TONIC(Para-T) / HOPPA / CHRIS ENERGY / LOXY / COOL HAND FLEX.... & released tunes under the monikers BAY B KANE / RINCA / ICON / KID THUNDER / INTELLIGENT JUNGLIST / DOUBLE TEE / MYSTRO / THE ROOD PROJECT / DARKENATOR.
During the period from 1989 to 1997 BBK released over 200 tracks on vinyl! After which he took a 13 year hiatus to get an Honors Degree at university, and move forward with other aspects of his life. In 2010 he decided to come back out of retirement. We are sure glad he did. BBK has joined us in 2011 to release his greatly anticipate, highly musical, smooth & hard album "Jungle Love".
